To provide strong support to Mg application in both motorcycle and automobile industries, A Technical Platform for Development of Mg Products and Their Processing Technologies has been constructed. Based on this platform, the technical methodology for integrated development and use of magnesium products has been developed. Mg components for automobile and motorcycle, such as transmission case, framework of steering wheel, wheel, crankshaft case, etc., were developed and used in mass production. Mg stamping technology and its equipment have been developed. Prototypes of Mg notebook and mobile phone case were produced on demonstration. Surface finishing and coating techniques have been established.
