In the afternoon of September 21, 2009, Prof. Erich Barke, President of Hannover University of Germany and his wife, visited magnesium center in accompany of Prof. Zhao Chengping, director of the Department of International Cooperation of Chongqing University. Prof. Zhang Dingfei, vice director of the National Engineering Research Center for Magnesium Alloys, gave them a cordial reception and introduced the overview of the center and the development background of the magnesium industry in China. He showed them around the exhibiting room of magnesium alloys of the center and introduced the research and development and the international collaboration of our center in recent years. Prof. Erich Barke gave a highly remark about the research achievements of magnesium center, especially the results of international cooperation. Finally, he hoped that both sides established cooperation in the field of research and development in magnesium alloys and other materials and talent training. He willingly took several promotional materials of the center, and said that he would contact with the relevant professor in their university after he returned, and explored some exchanges and cooperation with magnesium center.
