On March 20, 2010, Prof. Jiang Zehui, chief scientist of the Chinese Academy of Forestry, academic leaders of the Wood Science and Technology, vice director of the Population, Resources and Environment Committee of the CPPCC, party member of the State Forestry Administration, president of the China Flower Association and China Bamboo Industry Association, Co-Chair of the Board of the International Network for Bamboo and Rattan (INBAR), accompanied by Prof. Li Xiaohong, president of Chongqing University and Prof. Pan Fusheng, director of the National Engineering Research Center for Magnesium Alloys, visited magnesium center. Prof. Pan Fusehng gave a report on the development of magnesium alloys industry in China and the R&D progress of magnesium center. Prof. Jiang Zehui pointed out that the enhanced development and comprehensive utilization of magnesium resources was accord with the requirements of the international and domestic developments, and also hoped that the center continue to strengthen the effectively reuse of the waste magnesium slag, the recycling of waste magnesium and study of the environmental evaluation of magnesium life cycle etc., to make real resource advantages of magnesium industry bigger and stronger in China and achieve its healthy and sustainable development.
