On April 9, 2010, Zhai Luning, Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Shandong Province, Xu Maobo, deputy director of the Department of Science and Technology of Shandong Province etc. seven people visited magnesium center. Firstly, Zhai Minister and his parties had a meeting with Ou Keping, Chairman of University Council, Zhang Siping, executive vice president of Chongqing University and some experts of the National Engineering Research Center for Magnesium Alloys, and also held a cooperation signing ceremony of New Material Institute of Shandong Academy of Sciences and the National Engineering Research Center for Magnesium Alloys. Li Wei, the party secretary of New Material Institute of Shandong Academy of Sciences, Zhang Dingfei, Vice director of the National Engineering Research Center for Magnesium Alloys and deputy dean of the College of Materials Science and Engineering of Chongqing university, signed the cooperation agreement on behalf of the each side, respectively. According to the agreements, the National Engineering Research Center for Magnesium Alloys would establish a technology transfer center in Shandong Province based on New Material Institute of Shandong Academy of Sciences, and promote the conversion of magnesium alloy technologies in enterprises in Shandong Province by virtue of the lightweight, high strength material design and preparation R&D platform and Taishan Scholar positions in New Material Institute of Shandong Academy of Sciences. Magnesium center would joint with science and research institutes, and enterprises in Shandong Provenience to prepare the national, provincial science and technology project proposals. In addition, magnesium center would add the magnesium industry technology innovation strategic alliance in Shandong Province, and participate actively in technological innovation plan of Shandong Province to promote the rapid development of magnesium industries in Shandong Province. Subsequently, Zhai Minister and his parties, accompanied by Prof. Zhang Dingfei, visited the exhibiting room, the experimental workshop and some equipment of magnesium center.
