2018 China International Die Casting Congress & the 2nd CEO Forum were successfully held on October 24-26, in Beilun, Ningbo. Prof. Fusheng Pan (Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), chairman of Chongqing Association for Science & Technology, director of National Engineering Research Center for Magnesium Alloys) was invited to make a plenary presentation on the conference.
The Forum was hosted by China Foundry Association, and organized by People's Government of Beilun District, Ningbo City, China Foundry Die Casting Association and Ningbo Foundry Industry Association. More than 700 industry representatives from Chinese Mainland, Taiwan, HongKong, Germany, the US, Sweden and Japan participated in the congress. With the theme of “Die Casting in the New Era: More Lightweight, Stronger, More Eco-friendly”, the congress is targeted to deal with problems in the industry and discuss development strategy.
The theme forum was hosted by Ms. Qi Fan, Executive Vice President of China Foundry Association, and Mr. Lingen Shen. Prof. Fusheng Pan, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and professor of Chongqing University, has brought us a report entitled "High performance casting magnesium alloy and some advanced manufacturing technologies". Jin Fang, deputy Secretary-General of the China Development Research Foundation and a researcher at the Development Research Centre of the State Council, delivered the speech entitled "The Economic Impact of Trade Wars". Yang Dong, executive vice president of China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, made a report entitled "The Development Trend of automobile Industry". Finally, Alexander Mark, director of die casting solutions from Fulai, talked about the development of die casting industry under the tide of electric vehicles. At the conference, Prof. Pan introduced some high performance casting magnesium alloys and some advanced manufacturing technologies developed in recent years, and mainly introduced the new casting magnesium alloys developed by Chongqing University and related preparation and processing technologies. The new low cost cast magnesium alloy and the high strength cast magnesium alloy contain rare earth have excellent performance. The solvent-free purification technology can significantly reduce the content of iron in the cast magnesium alloy. The developed anti-gravity direction iron-based material filtering technology can increase the life of the filter by dozens of times while reducing the cost of the filter. The liquid phase coating alloying technology can effectively improve the yield of yttrium, strontium and other active elements, and the stability of alloy composition can be significantly improved. The new developed grain refiner can realize the effective grain refinement of cast alloy. The report also introduced the changes of the brand of cast magnesium alloy in the national and international standards.
During the conference, a dialogue panel was organized with the theme of "The Way to Success of Die-casting Enterprises in the New Era". Jiexiong Tang, chairman of Guangdong Wencan Die Casting Co., Ltd, Xudong Xu, chairman of Ningbo Xusheng Automotive Technology Co., Ltd, Jiancheng Zhang, chairman of IKD Company Co., Ltd, Yajun Yu, general manager of Chongqing Dajiang Meilixin Die-casting Co., Ltd, Guoguang Zhang, deputy general manager of Guangdong Hongtu Technology Co., Ltd, and Dong Zhang, general manager of Shanghai Jintuo Metal Products Co., Ltd, discussed with the participants of the enterprises on the scene, performed a wonderful entrepreneur dialogue program, and communicated the way to the success of die-casting enterprises, helping the transformation and upgrading of die-casting enterprises.
