Prof. Fusheng Pan attended the 2nd Military-Civilian Integration-based New Materials & Processes Summit and made a plenary presentation

On Oct. 30, the 2nd Military-Civilian Integration-based New Materials & Processes Summit was held in Changsha. The summit was jointly directed by the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, the State Administration of Science, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the China Space Foundation, and co-hosted by the People’s Government of Hunan Province and CASIC. More than 40 academicians and experts from China, Russia, the United States and Sweden, as well as more than 400 representatives in the field of new materials and processes in China including experts, scholars, entrepreneurs and investors were together at the summit to make jointly efforts to promote the rapid development of the new materials and processes industry. CASIC released the action roadmap for commercial development of space materials. Prof. Fusheng Pan (director of National Engineering Research Center for Magnesium Alloys) was invited to make a plenary presentation.

On the morning of Oct. 30, Xiaohong Li, Deputy Mayor of the Municipal People's Government of Changsha, delivered a welcome speech. Fei Chen, Deputy Governor of the People’s Government of Hunan Province, Guoying Chen, Deputy General Manager of CASIC, and Libin Xiang, Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, delivered speeches respectively. Mingjiu Xia, a member of Party Committee, attended the summit. In the plenary session, Hailing Tu, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Fusheng Pan, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Reznichenko Viacheslav, an academician of Moscow Aviation Institute, Sam Froes, a Professor of University of Idaho and Yuchen Pei, a chief expert of CASIC for advanced materials and technologies, delivered keynote speeches on major themes at the systematization and application levels, such as progress of advanced technologies (including advanced semiconductor materials and composite materials), development of military-civilian magnesium alloys, key aerospace materials and their industrial transformation prospects.
