The Research Center Jointly Established by the CCMg was awarded the National Advanced Group of Technical Talents

The Fifth National Commendation Conference of Outstanding Technical Talent and Advanced Collective was held in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Sep. 22. The Organization Department of the Central Committee of the CPC, Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China, Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of the People's Republic of China, and Ministry of Science and Technology of the People′s Republic of China jointly commended 99 national outstanding technical talents and 96 advanced professional collectives. Yunshan Liu, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, Secretary of CCCPC Secretariat, met with the delegates and delivered speeches. Central leaders including Kai Ma, Yandong Liu, Qibao Liu, Leji Zhao, and Gang Wan attended the conference. Kai Ma (Vice Premier of the State Council), Gang Wan (Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference), and other personnel of relevant state ministries and commissions attended the commendation conference.

The Chongqing New Materials Research Center won the fifth "National Outstanding Professional and Technical Advanced Collective", jointly established by the Chongqing Research Institute of Science and Technology, Chongqing University, Southwest University, etc. Prof. Fusheng Pan, the team leader and the winner of the 4th National Outstanding Professional and Technical Talent Title, was interviewed by the central leadership as the representative and received the award.

Since the establishment, the New Materials Research Center has undertaken more than 30 important scientific and technological projects above the municipal level. A number of important engineering and industrial application results have been achieved in light alloy material design and development, smelting protection, light alloy forming basic theory and technology, engineering technology development, industrial application, equipment development, etc. The research center successfully created a magnesium alloy technological innovation chain integrating "research and development + pilot incubation + industry demonstration". The R&D and application level of magnesium alloys of the center ranks among the top at home and abroad.

Up to now, team members have won 2 Second Prizes of National Science and Technology Progress Award, 2 First Prizes of Technology Invention Award of Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, 6 First Prizes of Ministry and Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award, and 1 Third Prize of Science and Technology Progress Award, were authorized 70 invention patents and published more than 350 SCI and EI indexed papers.
